Dear Kougar, Faithful,
This week is an exciting week for everyone in the community. Under the direction of our leadership, we can bring Kadoka, one of the foremost speakers, to the Midwest. My teammate, Mr. Jeff Nemecek, has fostered a relationship with the accomplished speaker Damon West. He is coming to Kadoka to speak to students and families of the Kadoka Area District.
A quick search of Mr. West on your phone gives you, his background. An accomplished athlete in high school, he accepted a college scholarship to play college football before he ended up addicted to drugs and making his living as a cat-burglar in Texas. The law caught up with the famed speaker when he was sentenced to 72 years in prison after being found guilty of his crimes. In prison, Mr. West gained a significant number of life lessons, which he will share with us in his time here.
In my first year in Kadoka, one of the most impressive feats of the Kadoka School has been to attract a speaker of as high of a caliber as Damon West. My fellow principal, Mr. Nemecek, and our admin team need extreme kudos to make this happen. I look forward to seeing you all on Thursday (1/20/2022) at 6 pm for our family engagement event with Damon West at the City auditorium. Damon West is a man who changed his life for the better, and he is coming here. We hope to see you there.
